The flywheel crown wheel wears over time and with the use of your Renault 4L, when starting, when the starter drives the engine through this. At a certain point, the starter may no longer properly catch the worn teeth of your crown wheel and therefore no longer drive your 4L engine. The solution is therefore to change the crown or the flywheel.
